On the 10th of Muharram, when the children in Hussain’s camp cried out for water, Abbas (RA) could not bear it. Though surrounded by thousands of enemy soldiers, he rode to the Euphrates River — not for himself, but for the thirsty children of Karbala.

He filled his mashk (water-skin), but when he lifted water to his lips — he paused.

> 💧 “How can I drink when my little nephews are thirsty?”

He dropped the water, turned back — and fought fiercely while protecting the mashk. Arrows rained down upon him; one struck his eye, another his shoulder, yet he held the flag high. When both his arms were cut, he held the mashk with his teeth — still determined to bring water to the camp.

At last, he fell — not defeated, but fulfilled.
