Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (R.A.)

The Fearless Warrior Loved by Allah and His Messenger ﷺ

Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (R.A.) was one of the earliest Muslims and among the ten companions promised Jannah. His story is filled with courage, faith, and sacrifice — inspiring every believer who reads about him.

🌙 Early Life and Acceptance of Islam

Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (R.A.) belonged to the Quraysh tribe of Makkah. He was only 17 years old when the light of Islam entered his heart after hearing the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He became one of the first seven people to embrace Islam at a time when it was dangerous to do so.

“O Mother! Even if you had a hundred souls, and they departed one by one, I would not abandon my religion.”

His mother tried to stop him, but his faith remained firm — a symbol of unshakable belief and love for Allah.

⚔️ The Lion of the Battlefield

Hazrat Sa’d (R.A.) was among the greatest warriors in Islamic history. He fought in almost every major battle, including Badr, Uhud, and Khandaq. He was the first man to shoot an arrow in defense of Islam.

“Shoot, Sa’d! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you.” – Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

This was one of the highest honors ever given to a companion.

🏰 The Conqueror of Persia

Under the Caliphate of Hazrat Umar (R.A.), Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (R.A.) led the Muslim army in the Battle of Qadisiyyah, one of the greatest victories in Islamic history. Through his leadership and trust in Allah, the mighty Persian Empire fell, and Islam spread across new lands. He later founded the city of Kufa in Iraq.

💖 Love of the Prophet ﷺ

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ loved Sa’d (R.A.) deeply. Once, the Prophet prayed for him:

“O Allah, answer Sa’d when he calls upon You.”

From that day, his prayers were known to be instantly accepted — people feared to wrong him because of his powerful duas.

🌺 A Life of Simplicity and Faith

Even after achieving fame and wealth, Sa’d (R.A.) remained humble. He would say:

“I am the first to shoot for Islam, yet I do not have more than what I need.”

His heart was filled not with gold or silver — but with faith and gratitude.

🕊️ His Legacy

Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (R.A.) passed away in his old age in Madinah and was buried in Jannat al-Baqi. His life reminds us that true success lies not in wealth or power, but in faith, courage, and trust in Allah.
